Bought an instrument panel with tach for the Sami. How do I go about wiring the tach in? Thanks.

i beleive that all samuris had the wireing for the tach, so you should just be able to plug it in and it will work
good luck

Cool, one small step for mankind...but, it appears that I have a much larger problem. Took the new panel out to the Sami--no way will this unit fill the hole left by the other. This has four screw holes at each corner on the face plate. The existing unit has two holes above on the dash (that appear to screw into a bracket on the rear of the unit), and two holes down below. Hmmmm, not gonna work. Ideas, anyone? The claim was this was for an 86-88, but.... my rig is definitely an '88 and this unit will not fit.

they changed styls in 88 so there are 88's and 88 1/2's, and they do have different dashboards
from what you have described you have the 88 1/2
sorry it dont fit, but let the world know cause some one out has one for you ;D

My 1994 Trackick has no tach, anyway I could put one on it? It is a 5 speed to, its kind of annoying with no tach.

Well, I've spent way too much time researching what I thought was going to be a simple change. Apparently, the key vin# between the two models is 4235001. My vin # is below that by a good margin, 4154xxx, BUT, I do seem to have the 88 1/2 dash. So, back to square one. I paid too much for this in the first place--trying to make sure I had things lined up and ready to go, but it does not fit, will not fit, etc. Anyone looking for an early cluster? Speedo says 35xxx, or close to that. Looks good. Won't look good in my Sami.
