KYB GRS-2 struts longer than stock?
« on: October 03, 2007, 06:23:21 PM »
are the KYB GRS-2 struts longer than stock?  I just put a new set in and they seem longer as far as the travel?  anyone know.  I had to take out my strut mount spacers as the strut would fall out of my strut extenders.  This happened when I tested on my flex rocks in the backyard.

I compared my side my side with stock.  Exactly the same.  Smooth riding though, well valved.

I emailed KYB and asked if they had longer struts for trackicks and they said that they did not.  They did give me the part number for 50MM longer shocks if you want that.

Here is the response I got from KYB on the shocks.

The part number for the rear is 344371, it is much firmer but it has the
same mounts as the shocks you have now and should work with your lift.

Thank you,
Dan

These are from a Ford Econoline E250 1992-04. I am not sure these would be the best choice for a kick. Since these fit the rear there are tons of choices. I have Rancho 5000 Ford F150 shocks on lil Suzy and I understand Crown Vic shocks work as well.

I'm thinking about swapping back to a stock shock and just relocating the mounting bracket on the rear axle.  The rear is still a bit stiffer then I like.
