There is another option for your and my lack of the correct gearing or more power

engine and box from a siera or carlton or any RWD car mate it to a SJ transfer box for the 4wd=more power and lower gearing.

Hey that'll be my route but with a trackkickvit motor maybe a 2L V6

Not sure on what the needle size is. was thinking an 1800 MG has twin SUs.

AS for the sammy tcase, not an option really as i have crawler gears installed in my t case which are cool off road,

I may end up just changing the cam and carb as money is going elsewhere at present.

Mind you a ford V6 with short gearbox and a short prop between might work,  could run a down draft webber then  .
