I am putting a rebuilt 1.6 16v back together, New block, clean pistons, new rings,(machine shop did the rings,) reman head new cam, and distributor, All were machine shop checked and verified standard, I am to the point of putting the plugs in, I made sure the crank mark and cam mark were at 12 straight up, Distributor lined right up the #4 wire, where it's supposed to, My 1st question, I rotated the whole thing around several times and every 2 turns of the crank it ends up right at TDC finishing the exhaust stroke and beginning the compression stroke on #4, Is that correct? I checked by holding my hand over no 4 plug hole, and also did the same on each cylinder and did not feel any compression on 1 and 2, and only exhaust on 3, Should I try to put it together and start it? I have break-in oil on everything, or turn it over without fuel to see how it sounds 1st? I'm getting confused now, Thanks for any help,
