no spark

I am an old guy and putter a lot. I pull my 92 Tracker behind the motorhome. I got to worrying about the 30 year old ECU and decided to see about converting to a carb. My current problem is that I did the Sidekick distributer to GM ignition module swap and got good spark on the bench. I bought a distributer off Ebay new, had a new 4 pin GM module and a standard ignition coil. It worked the first time. Now I put it on the motor and no spark! I changed the GM module no spark, I changed the Ignition coil, no spark. So, it has to be the signal generator (pick up coil in the dizzy) right? when I ohm the thing with a fluke digital meter, the meter just blinks on and off. is that normal? I measured it while spinning on the starter and same thing. It does make a little DC volts, unsure of how much, meter jumps around from 1 to up to 7 once while spinning. I am not a meter genius so I don't know if thats one volt or one millivolt. Anybody got any ideas before i spend some more money?
