Very detailed, and good photo's.  This is the best axle conversion thread I have seen.

93 Tracker,XL7 springs & 1" raised spring pads in front with YJ springs in back, home built bumpers rear & front (w/winch), 2" x 4" rock tubes,  ARB front & rear, converted Sami rear to IFS, 33x12.5x15  aluminum rims, roll cage, 2.7L w/5 speed auto.

I do have a question some of you may be able to answer:

If you have a Calmini Anvil, will the front skid plate fit?     It seems all the pics I have seen of the Anvil don't show a skid. Maybe this is just to "show-off" the Anvil.


Like mentioned above, my clearance is tight between the skid plate and axle. Since this axle is STEEL, I'm debating running no skid....maybe truss/enforce it (needed?).  Any thoughts?

I ran a skid plate to keep from getting hung up on stumps and large rocks (that is on the Race Car now).  I will have another one made when I am able to run trails.  The steel is stronger, but there is not much clearance for the gears, and a small dent will have the ring gear rubbing,  (I had to remove a dent to keep from rubbing when I built mine.)
