big engine

well my question is what the biggest engine that can fit in a tracker with a body lift.3".i got an olds 455 avail and a gm sm420tranny and np205 tranfer i can use. i know its excessive, but why not!i also have full axcess to a machine shop and im a certified welder. think i should try? original idea was to use a 350, but its a 455, drool. ;D

I think it sounds badass... just make sure to do something just as crazy with the axles... like Mogs or Rockwells! ;D

Lets see, my 85' S-10 with a modified LT1 pushing around 430 to 450 HP with 33x12.50' s and 4:10 gears would wheely. particularly with the 3k rpm stall.  around 3-4 ft longer wheel base.   Yeah he'll do a back flip.

was planning opn using toyota axles
should be strong enough, seeing as ill just lose traction anyways.

My neighbor builds drag cars and is very interested in putting a SBC in a Tracker. He says it will fit in the stock engine bay without too much work but the balance will be way off. He said he'd move the firewall back about a foot and figures it would be about right but with the short wheelbase it'd still be a hairy ride...

I have a 425 olds and the same thing has crossed my mind.. now do a different approach, strech the front a a foot so that the front diff is just under the bumper... that will be maga cool
