Samurai street tires
« on: February 06, 2016, 09:52:43 PM »
So I just bought a 1986 Samurai (first one super new to this) I am looking for tires I can use on the street right now it has very aggressive mud tires on it that kind of drag it you around on pavement since there is no power steering. it has 31's on it right now and 6.5.1 gears, rear lockers, King Kong t-case mount, heavy duty front and rear bumpers, roof rack, under carriage rock lights, roof lights, winch ready wired and mounts, high rise steering, dual battery system. Basically I want to be able to use this as a daily driver and as an off road vehicle. Any suggestions keep in mind I am just starting out I've really have experience fixing tractors and some repair work on cars. So yeah basically I need to know what kind of tires to run I am probably going to try to trade the mud tires for some all terrain ones

Sounds like you've got yourself a pretty nice truck there, I don't think it's quite suitable for a daily driver though - depending on where you live and what sort of daily driving you have in mind, if there's any significant highway driving involved, you'll probably find the Sami can't keep up.

Have you considered getting a cheap sedan for daily use?

;D I rarely go on the highway/freeway generally go 45 and under where I live so besides the occasional trip out of state it should be fine.

I would consider buying a spare set of wheels for street driving and swap them when you go off roading.
