Well I made a few searches but ended with nothing clear, so I 'll ask:
Is there a specific placement of the shifter collars on a sammy tcase? or it wont matter if I mix them up changed positions of the front wheel drive collar with the high/low range shifter collar.
Also is there a front-rear orientation of the collars? Can I use a shifter collar of a small flange t case in a large flange t case?
The reason for all this questions is because I'm getting some gear chatter when coasting to a stop: It doesnt matter if in 4 wheel drive, 2 wheel drive, locked hubs, unlocked, etc... I have already put new bearings, seals and a new 4.16 low range gear set and still get the grinding chatter like if the shifter collar is trying to engage a different gear...
By the way I have a kicker 3, but the manual tranny and the low gearcase where running beautiful, only the sammy tcase was picked up from a junkyard with a broken shifter housing than was replaced with a housing from a small flange t case...
Sorry for the long story, but was trying to explain the full scenario...
Thanks for your help!!!
