I have a stock '87 Sammy that used to be my father-in-law's. When he turned 89 he decided that he was thru driving the beaches and gave it to my wife. It has been my daily driver for the past couple of years. I think of it as "the little engine that could."
I just took it in for the semi-anual oil change from 10-40 summer to 10-30 winter. When I pulled it in to the oil change place, the lead guy called out SAMURAI! and all the rest of the guys responded in unison with the same battle cry "SAMURAI!" Made me actually laugh out loud.
I live in Pittsburgh, and since I've had this thing, it is the only one I've ever seen on the roads. I get asked at least twice a week if I am interested in selling it. The answer is NO. Mine has only 65K on the clock.
I think Ill drive it and maintain it in it's original form until it actually falls apart.
