Jumpy ride

Last year I bought a 1990 Tracker off Craigslist in good condition. It is the 1.6 8v engine. Had a 2" coil spacer lift and a 2" "custom"
body lift. I have been using it as my daily driver for the past year and have had a chronic problem with 3rd gear. I replaced the clutch about 6 months ago with a new one and it didn't seem to fix the problem. Whenever I am in 3rd gear and i try to slow down or let off the gas pedal just a little bit, It jerks and jumps very hard. It has gotten to where I try to avoid 3rd gear as much as possible and when I am in 3rd I am usually feathering the clutch quite a bit. I am a poor college student and I was hoping to avoid taking it to a shop and pay them to try and troubleshoot it. Just wondering if anyone else has had any problems like this and knows a solution.
I really appreciate any and all input I can get!

Hmmm,,,put the truck up on jack stands, put it in third gear, depress the clutch and turn the rear wheels, which will turn the trans and see if there is a clunk or skip indicating messed up gear faces or missing teeth on the third gear.

After driving it home last night I was really dissapointed to learn that it does this in all gears. The higher gears are not as noticable but it still does it. It has 120k miles on it and the previous owner did not know much about its maintenance schedule with the owner before him. I was thinking about replacing the timing belt and fuel pump and seeing where that got me. I am just really hoping not to have to get a new tranny

Thank you so much! It is so nice to have something specific to check for. I will have to take a good look at it this weekend and get an update.
