« on: June 20, 2012, 09:56:59 AM »
I am on a tight budget and i want to put a snorkel on myy 87 samurai but dont want to pay $200 bucks for one. i have read a lot about making your own out of PVC pipes and then putting some foam around it and coating it with some kind of bed liner. well if any one has done this or knows of a website that goes step by step through making one please let me know. any info is helpful. thanks

I think if I were going to make  a pipe snorkel, I'd use larger pipe than that - doesn't look more than 1" or therabouts - I do go with 2" as a minimum, and maybe a little larger.

I did one on my Explorer using 3" PVC and a dryer vent to cap it. Total cost was around 60 bucks.....
