Fender bendin'
« on: June 22, 2012, 09:49:22 AM »
Anyone modify the rear fenders on a 99 Tracker? Unlike some of the other trucks, like the four doors, this two-door has seam welds up at the top of the fenders, so the area I want to bend a bit is pretty rigid. If I cut, I wind up with two plies that I'd have to bend and re-weld. What I'd like to do is just roll the inner lip, and bow out the top of the fender a bit since I'm getting just a small amount of rub. Any suggestions?

Take a baseball bat and get it pinched between the tire and the lip of the fender and gently start prying the fender out and away from the tire.  This can be done by articulating the rearend and slowly rolling the vechicle back and forth.  Its an old hotrodder trick I've heard about.
