PROUD STOCK SAMI WHEELER
« on: May 13, 2012, 07:15:18 AM »
I have had and wheeled my sami for a little over a year and a half. I drive 80 miles round trip to and from work dayly. I wheel on the weekend. I have put more than a thousand miles off road. Mostly on random creeks and trails around home. But a lot of my wheeling come from following big jeeps with 44s down behind grand lake in oklahoma. And now I can't find stock axles anywhere. I come here and everyone is talking coversion to bigger axles. Just don't know where all the axles are going if no one uses them. I need them, willing to pay for trash, by the reading of it, but I like stock. So if anyone or a few of you would be willing I would like a spare set so I'm not down when I do have to change gears barrings. I live in oklahoma. There are very few samis I see on the road, much less on trails. I like being narrow with stock and just love saying you just got out wheeled by a stock sami. Any sami lovers with stock axles laying around. I would put them to good use and be thankfull to get back off road and driving to work. Willing to pay shipping to oklahoma. If no one lives close enough for the drive. And I'm not asking for handouts will pay for what I like that no one else does. Please let me know. My son and I are missing the mud rocks and ripping tow hooks of z71 chevys. Up to 3 now. 2 from one tahoe and one off a truck. Both thought they could follow my stock sami. And found out differently. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If you need the housing then you can give Trail Tough a call, they can probably hook you up.  They also have plenty of stock replacement parts available.  What are you breaking, or do you just want a spare set?

You might want to look at the SJ-410 backing place conversion, it helps with the swaps as you don't need to remove your drum brakes at the same time.

Found iners. And just raised the spring shackles and getting it ready to stand on 33s. Just cause everyone says they won't last. I think its the drivers that think the foot to floor methid is the best that can't keep them

I ran for years with 33" tires on stock rear axles, only broke one set.  I did swap over to the Double Tough front axles from Trail Tough once I blew up a birfield though.
