I have an 87 samurai that I feel is getting to hot.  What is the normal operating temp for them?   Around town it doesn't get over 160 but on the highway I tap 190

There is also a 160* t-stat and a 180* available if that makes you feel better.

I wouldn't want to run over 190F, on the EFI models the ECU starts backing off timing at that point to protect the engine.

So is there any particular site that sells an upgraded radiator for our sammys?  Just wondering.

I'm not sure about an upgrade. I do know my sami with the 16v turbo'd has not ran hot on me thus far. Still have stock radiator w/out shroud and the 160 t-stat. You may wanna check that yours is good and clean. Throw in a new t-stat maybe.

I don't know of any.  Well, I guess you could run a trackick radiator, but they are not a direct fit.  No real need for an upgraded radiator anyway....a stock radiator will cool fine, as long as the rest of the cooling system is operating properly.
