ignition cylinder

hello guys,long time im not here,until something is broken :laugh:,ok its a geo tracker 96 16v engine automatic,anyone here change  the cylinder lock(acc,start,etc),my question is this car is like the toyotas that you change only the cylinder or yaayyyyyy like you need change the whole switch,im afraid of the air bags clock sping i think this is the name,anyway a person who do this before plz im a disable person,this is why im asking,thx for all the inputs nd keep the good work guys.

Not sure about changing the locks, I think you need to take off the entire assembly.  Do you need to re-key it or is there something wrong with the switch?  If it's an electrical issue you can just remove the switch but leave the key component in place.

no,its sometimes stuck and you need to move the stering wheel fast or move the key on the cylinder to start the car,im afraid that one day go out and then cant start the car >:(

So the key won't turn from the lock position or when you hit start it just won't engage?

it does sometimes,yes stuck in lock position,but i can remove the key with no problem from the ignition

Do you just need to put a little lube/graphite into the key hole?  Sounds like the switch may just be hanging up a little bit and need lubed up.
If you need to change out the lock cylinder, I am pretty sure you can change just the cylinder and not have to remove the whole key assembly.  I was thinking there was a roll pin that you could drive out and then the cylinder would come out.  I can check one of mine, if I need to.
I would try the lube in the key hole first though.
