Wheel offset question for 15x7s
« on: March 12, 2012, 07:52:33 AM »
I'm considering buying some 15x7s to mount my 225/75 a/t tires on.  Part of the consideration is looks and part is for having a proper wheel size for these tires.
I know the factory offset is 4" on the 5.5" wheels so if i stick with the factory offset, the rims will stick out 1.5" more with the 15x7s.
I am installing a 2" spacer lift later this week.  I am just wondering whether I should stick with the same offset or go with 3" of offset to widen the stance a little for stability to counter the effects of the lift and to facilitate possible larger tires fittament in the future.
I have also noticed however, the tires do not rub in the rear at full articulation because they seem to tuck just inside the fender.  i am wondering if the additional offset would further limit the potential to get larger tires in the furture.

Any thoughts or experiences on this?
