I recently realized that my Hub Bolts on my Warn hubs had backed out AGAIN.  Off to Spidertrax, to get another set of Upgraded Hub Bolts...

I've been discussing this, and the consensus is, that they back out (even though you used a bunch of Loctite), becuase the Warn hubs have straight holes, and no cone washers, as used in the Aisin hubs that are standard on Kicks & Sammi's - well, that may be true.  I want to keep my Warn Premium Hubs, but gain the benefit of having tapered holes, and cone washers, that are supposed to stop the hub bolts from backing out.  Finding the right reamer to do this ought to be a challenge, but I'm up for it.

Hi Bob, I have heard the same thing from others.

Take an old hub to a machine shop, along with a bolt
and the Warn hubs and have them taper the holes for
you, then reinstall with the cone washers on new or stock
bolts, the cones do come off, I think I like the stock bolts
just fine but you might want new ones

My superwinch hubs have streight allen head bolts and do not back out :-/ I have been thinking of trying out the Warn Hubs ( I blew apart a Superwinch). Let us know if you find out why their backing out.

I've went through this hub thing and can help... maybe... I've run the Warn premiums, Warn regular, Superwinch, and Stock and have to say... Save your money and use the stock ones. I ALWAYS had trouble keeping all three of the aftermarket hubs on. Loctite, new lockwashers, prayers.... nothing worked. I actually chucked one of my Warn premiums while going down the hi-way... lost forever... that was the last straw.

Stock hubs rule!

What are the difference of strengh between stock, warn and superwinch?

And i vote for stock to, because if your broke one it's easier to find a remplacement.

Thanks for that info Eric!  The difference, is that the stock hubs have tapered holes, and cone washers on the bolts.  I'm running the Warn premium, because I'm also running with Warn Hub Fuses (whether or not they actually work, has yet to be determined).

IF I can drill my Warn hubs to match factory hubs, I believe I'll have the best of both worlds.  But that remains to be seen...  

I'm running one superwinch and one stock right now I guess I'll break out the other stocker so I match

So far I've not had any problems with a stock hub.

Plenty of problems with the stock axil shafts.

I just broke a stock hub. Stupid plastic ring at the bottom. Fortunately it broke and stuck engaged so it didn't spoil my day. Its quite entertaining trying to drive in 3wd, you don't get very far. I shan't get another set of stock Track/Kick hubs, I have heard that Sammi ones are stronger but a few people over here have had problems with the fit of them. I guess that leaves Warn or Superwinch and if I've got this right Warn hubs fall off and Superwinch hubs explode, hmm, great choice.

The Superwinch held up great for years. It exploded when I broke an outter stubshaft off of the half shaft I think any hub would of exploded after that :-/

FYI: The following weekend a friend needed hub parts for his Jeep and all of the inner parts swaped from mine into his for a Dana 44. The only difference was the inner blot pattern.
