Sidekick Trailing Arm Lenght
« on: January 03, 2012, 03:12:48 PM »
Like my post tell, i had removed the trailing arm from my sidekick with a grinder (stuck in bushing and bolts broke), i threw in the trash before mesured. So i want do new arms, but maybe longer than old ones for more wheelbase. I'm doing  a 3.5" suspension lift + 3 inch body lift. Maybe 1" longer should be enough

so thank for the mesure and your recommendation.

If you increase your wheel base, you will have to extend your upper link also.

I am running 30" trailing arms (extended to 31 1/2").  It does improve the ride.  I have pushed the back axle close to the fuel tank skid pan.
93 Tracker,XL7 springs & 1" raised spring pads in front with YJ springs in back, home built bumpers rear & front (w/winch), 2" x 4" rock tubes,  ARB front & rear, converted Sami rear to IFS, 33x12.5x15  aluminum rims, roll cage, 2.7L w/5 speed auto.

For that much lift you will want more than a 1" longer lower links.

I know I had posted up a request for the length of the stock links of the sidekick when I did my lift for just about the same reason as you,(let me go thru my older posts to check) I had to cut them out and forgot to measure them prior to tossing them. I am currently at the max 1.25" over stock offered with my AE rear links and it could use another 3/4" easily!

Found it!,,,,,,""""I got 18 7/16 which may be a little too accurate for a tape measure and rubber bushings but they were all about the same.  Between 18 3/8 and 18 1/2."""
