hey guys i am trying to find VIN tag and model number tags .info on motor size.  plant where built ,ETC.
how do i know what model it is .   only tag i can see is on the winsheild frame.and i have another not atatched to the vehicle.
with tire size. and GAWR  info  i can't find anthing on the exact model number   ,where are all the tags and info located .

Does the windshield frame tag have a 17 digit number starting with JS?

yes , it still dosen't tell me what it is  ?  what model number is it ?     thanks for that pic

Well the Vin you posted is only 14 digits long.....

SJ413 Samurai's were not imported to the lower 48 states until the 86 model year, and all had 17 digit vins

85 was a transition year between the 410 and 413 and both types were sold in canada for 85...and possibly Alaska and Hawaii.

If you have a 410, then it should have a 4-spd and a 1.0L instead of a 5-spd and 1.3L, and the springs sit nearly 3" more inboard than the samurais - but they look very similar. Also the samurai's had 3.73 gears rather than the 4.10's

beings that your vin is a JA5 - which is the indicator of the 413 im betting thats what you have.

You can see if you have a 413k or 413w etc without using the vin....the K was a truck and W was a extended cab...think the Q was Long wheel base.....google images should help.
