No power to my ac compressor?? 95 geo tracker
« on: July 01, 2011, 02:23:33 PM »
Hey everyone I have a problem with my air conditioner after I installed my new motor.

I can run a direct line to the compressor and it seems to work fine. I know its low on freon because I broke the lines when I pulled the motor the first time. I bypassed the low presure switch. Still no power. The fan seems to be working just fine. My next thought was the Ac relay next to the 25 amp fuse by the battery?? I just went out and wired the compressor hot untill I could fill the freon. Ac blows cold shows plenty of presure (gauge doesn't show psi). I hooked the factory compressor wire back up hoping it had been either the high or low presure switch but no dice.

Any suggestions would be great and I tried to label all of my trouble shooting

along with a pressure switch, i believe that it has to have a signal for the temp sensor on the motor(wont allow the a/c to run if the engine is running hot). it's on the side of the motor by the computers temp sensor i think.

There's an a/c troubleshooting page over at www.kick-fix.com - it will tell you what to check, and also how to check it.

IIRC, the wire that goes to this switch/sensor is yellow/blue.
