How can I get my XL-7 to Ride this High?
« on: May 18, 2011, 07:45:43 AM »
Hello Fellow Zuki Nut's,

My Rig has a 4" lift and some big tires, but I've got to go to the next level.  I want to build an XL-7 MONSTER, does anyone know HOW or WHO I need to talk to?  I can't find anything online...

This what I want -vs- what i have:

As far as I know there are no commercially available xl-7 sas kits. It will be custom work. First figure what type of donor axle you want to use and what suspention type you prefer. That will get the ball Rollin.
life is 10% what happens to you and 90% what you do about it!

In order to get that hight you will need to either chop up your front frame or switch to a solid axle up front.  How good are you at fabrication?

Buy a welder & a torch.

Purchase some Yota axles and some 3-4"lisft springs.

That's a good start...

Then be prepared to start lotsa fab work like:

Steering - high steer kit
longer brake lines
driveshafts adapters and spacers
shocks & shock mounts
shackles of your choice
different rims
34" tires
and a gazillion other odds and ends...

I know the voices aren't real.... but they have some pretty kewl ideas!!! Tux.....  ;-)
I get my Sammi parts here, and you can too... http://www.mikodaindustries.com/http://stores.ebay.com/sticksnstones4x4samuraiparts

Thanks Guy's...  This is gonna cost a lot to get done, or I better brush up on my welding skills!!  I read about a guy who took the front end off a Toyota and made it work, I'm think'n a Jeep w/ one of those release mechanizim's that allow you to sit up straight no matter what ur going over..

A member sent me this link...

I've got all the steps now.  Sent him an email to build me one, waiting on the reply..

I'll just do it on steroids with a lot bigger tires and six or more inches of lift...

What a TALENT that guy is!!  Cheers!!
