Hi guys,
I was having trouble with getting and keeping my zuk started. So i started with all the small stuff (plugs, check for fuel being pumped in to the carb, distributor cap). When my father was visiting my father pulled the cover to carb and there was a dark build up in the bowl and some stuff in the screen. So we cleaned it out. didn't have time to investigate further so we just cleaned that. Tried starting it wouldn't go so we sprayed a bit of starting fluid in the carb and it started up. Than we killed it tried starting it again and the samething. checked the screen and bowl again samething cleaned it and dumped the tank and checked the fuel filter and it was clean. Got fresh fuel in there and tried again. Got it started and went around the block a couple of times (it is a b!7ch trying to steer with a ps box and no ps pump hooked up) every time i would push in the clutch it would start to sound like it wanted to die. Than killed it at the house started it up again and it started on its own. So we thought it was as good as were going to get it for now. But we were wrong after we came back with the trailer about two weeks later it would not start even with starter fluid. So we pushed it on the trailer and moved it to where it has been sitting for the past 10-11 months with me not working on it. When I get back I think I am done messing around and going to pull the motor and do a full rebuild also replace or acetone the gas tank and get new or blow out the fuel lines. If you want some more info about my zuk or me read my water cooler post. That's it for now thanks for any help.
