Yeah Wild, I'm running Sammy rotors and calipers. I don't have a stock set of Trackick rotors to try, I run 4 door brakes up front, but I wonder if a Trackick rotor would work with a Sammy caliper. I pulled the axle that had the rubbing issue, and aside from ruining the bearing seal ( I used black Tough Stuff RTV to seal the bearing retaining plate and it pulled the outer seal off the bearing when I pulled it. Sure IS tough stuff! ) the bearing itself seemed ok. Now I have to change it. Lucky for me a local Pep Boys had the bearing and retainer in stock, wonder of wonders. I still don't think it has anything to do with the wheel bearing.

So it turns out Trackick and Sammy brake rotors have a slightly differrent offset so cannot be exchanged. Going to replace bearings today and reinstall everything.

I finally discovered ALL the issues causing my rotor grinding. 1st was the pad carrier part of the re-built calipers I bought from Napa. They were not square to the rotor causing the whole thing to ride cockeyed. I had to square them up with a file to fit correctly. I should have known that the powder coating was hiding something, and that something was a badly tweaked carrier. I thought the powder coating was a bonus, but it was actually there to hide the badly corroded caliper parts. 2nd was the used ( but never installed) Trail Tough disc adapters I purchased from someone on the Zuwharrie forum. They had over 1/16 " runout and although that doesn't sound like much, carry that out to the edge of the disc and it was enough to make it rub. A machinist buddy of mine trued them up for me and he couldn't believe how far off they were. He said it may have something to do with how they were cut. The lazer cutting method used on these may have heated them up enough to warp the steel. Or maybe it was just crappy steel. It definitely heated them up enough to harden the edges and ruin one of his cutting tools! That's something to keep in mind if anyone is going to do this mod, especially if you drive your rig on the highway. Before you install everything permanantly, check the adapters for runout.  Oh, BTW, it WAS NOT the wheel bearings.

Any other problems with the setup?
Did you have to turn in a junkyard core from NAPA for the calipers or was it just a purchased new/refurb part?
Let me know how it works out.  I'm only running 30" tires on stock 2dr brakes but I've always considered upping to 4door fronts and Samurai rear disc but don't feel the need to (if it ain't broke don't fix it, and it also stops great in stock form).
Check back and let us know how well it works out once all the problems are ironed out.

Dj, yeah I had to turn in cores, thats another story altogether. I bought some supposedly " good " used calipers, rotors and the mounting kit ( TT) from a guy on Zuwharrie. The TT kit stuff had never been installed, but the " good "  rotors  and calipers turned out to be seized and rusted so bad they were junk, and the rotors were so pitted from sitting outside thgey couldn't be cut enough to salvage them.  Should have just went to the upullit for cores.

They seem to be getting better every time I drive it.

32x11.50's and my suspension is tall and mushy. Lots of wind drag too. But at least it stops now  ;D, still wallows like a boat though

Oh yeah, the rotors are cheap! Shipping adds up because of the weight but not too bad. I'm just PO'd I got took.  My own fault looking for a " cheap " deal.  Sure does stop good though, that's right 50 to 0 real fast. Calipers are cheap, but you gotta have cores! or their twice as much.
