NOOB ride questions
« on: March 09, 2011, 05:39:38 AM »
I'm looking at a Tracker/Sidekick (2dr)to use as a towed to run around Mexico in.  Having had a Scout for 30 years I'm used to a bad ride on rough roads and a quite tired of it.  When did the Sidekick get IFS?  What shocks would be recommended for the best road ride on not smooth roads?  Many Mexican roads are potholed and washboardy not to mention the topes(speed bumps)  All the roads(Baja not included) can be run in 2wd.  Are there any other suspension improvements for a smooth ride.

Thanks in advance

Sidekicks/Trackers have always had IFS since they came out in 89. The Samurai is the SAS rig you are thinking of. Look at OME Struts for the front. It will make a huge difference in the ride. Also make sure you are running the VEHICLES recommended tire pressure (not the pressure listed on the tire). These things are light, and 35 psi on a tire will make it ride like a tank. I have heard that the OME springs offer a better ride, but I have never used them.
