1 of a kind; 86 sammi
« on: March 18, 2011, 05:17:29 PM »
I built this rig for bear hunting with dogs and I don't think you'll ever see 1 like it again. I've had this sammi for about 4 years and right away I new I had to do something different for what I need it for, so here we go. It came with the spoa and about 5" of lift and 33s on it, also had the high steer and a locker in the rear.
The first thing I did to it was cut it off behind the drivers area and built a flatbed on it and made it a little wider and about 12-14" longer, then built alum. boxes on it, the main 1 for the dogs, the top left is a onboard icechest, and the 1 on the top right is for dry storage. Here in the last couple weeks I put some 538 3rds in it and a 6.5-1 and bearings in the t-case, after which I built some fenders for it to keep the mud and snow off myself and the passenger, (with the windows down the mud got on us and all over everything else also.) It also has a onboard compressor and tank for the tires.  Here's a couple pics.   Mike
Here it is after removing the stock 1s

I did this to figure the angles

All bent and welded in place

Moved it outside to paint and get pics.

I'm not sure on the weight, I don't think it added much because I used alot of alum.
The bear or rig dogs go on the top of the main box, a couple guys can get it up there.
Have a good1 guys,   Mike
