I like the 1 piece hood / grill look. Especially with the scoop molded into it.

I want the Jimney local.  There was rumor of VW picking it up and bringing it to the US as a niche vehicle, sort of a mini Touareg.

This!! (with spell check, sry...)

This part would be cool, but imho it would be cooler if ASMC did it instead!!

Please give us Yanks the JIMNY!! Oh, & the SQ420 too!! Thank you!!

That's odd...my wife's daily driver is an SQ425.  Why would you want a Grand Vitara with a 2.0L engine, instead of the 2.5 V6?

Doesn't look much bigger than a Sammy or 1st gen 2 door trackick. Anyone know what powers it? Little turbo diesel would be cool with like 40mpg.
The usual stuff, and 2nd generation Air to liquid intercooled TURBOCHARGER

Id bet its a diesel, seems like every other country get truly fuel efficient automobiles except the US,  sounds like freedom to me ::)

I loved it when I was in Northern Ireland.  Everywhere we went, we saw the equivalent of a Grand Vitara, with a hood scoop...and a TurboDiesel in it.  Mrs. Bobzooki stood there and pointed, and said "I want!  I WANT!"

I guess I was referring to the old style SQ420, the 1st gen Sidekick Sport-esque Vitara version with the 2l l4 like the Aussies & EU had available. Probably not in production even over there now I spose...

My point is it sucks that between CU & the EPA we in the USA have been denied what arguably may be Suzuki's best efforts in the 4wd market to date. The older Vitara of that style would be available used & probably plentiful... had they been available here when new... go figure.  >:(

India is likely to get a version next year, probably with a new diesel.  :(

Do you know, is it a Maruti or a Suz? The Maruti's are cool & well made as you know, but something in me just wants 'The Real McCoy'. Then again, I suppose my Geo is the same thing, since it's not Suzuki badged! :P
& Yeah the turbo diesel would be way cool... mileage, torque, longevity. I've never owned a diesel & never liked the stinky factor, but hey I'd be up for a new experience!  :D

Edit: Speaking of which, we haven't heard from khan_sultan about his Gypsy in a while. Hope with all the turmoil over there he & his are okay. I just searched for his build thread & I don't see it!  ???  :(

Most of the Jimnys run 1.9 TurboDiesels...Radius Arm coil sprung suspension.  Most still run the original Samurai transfer case

I believe it will be a Maruti, not sure if it will be made in Japan and imported over or made in India.
