Problem with 86 Samurai
« on: January 30, 2011, 02:52:53 PM »
My Stock 86 Samurai has a problem and i cant find it.  It starts fine runs a little high but when i shift into a gear as i ease off the clutch and push the gas. the car well move a few feet and it will try to die but i can keep it alive by pressing the clutch all the way down again. i have recently got a clutch plate kit and installed it. but it still does the same thing. thanks for any help.

How is the tune on the motor?Check the ignition system and the carb. Sounds like when it sense a load wants too die.Go over the basics.Dont think its related to the clutch.

What RPM does your engine idle at? What is your timing set at right now? What rpm are you bringing it up to when you release the clutch? How long have you had your Zuk, has it always done this or is it a new problem?
