Killed My Starter. Help?

So I hit a HUGE puddle today in my 1998 Chevy Tracker. I then stopped to get gas. Nothing when I tried to start. The Battery is fine, powers everything. So I push start. Happened again just now.

Did I kill it or is it something else?

Thanks.

Could be dirt in the solenoid so it won't engage
or you knocked the small wire off the terminal
that makes the solenoid kick to life

Start with something simple. Remove your battery cables and clean them / remove your ground cable and clean it and the block attaching point / remove the wires to the solenoid and clean them. If you have the "clicky fix" on your solenoid remove the ground wire and clean it and the grounding point.

If that doesn't work then get out the OHM meter and touch the battery posts.  to see if your battery is discharging. If it still won't start I would guess that your solenoid is shot.

Does it click or anything?

Jump the terminals on the starter.  If it starts up, then start from the starter and work backwards.

If you do this and it starts it is either the solenoid or the starter itself. Majority of the time the solenoid is the culprit.
