H27A conversion into a 98 Vitara soft top to replace the J20A
« on: October 16, 2010, 08:44:26 PM »
G,Day guys I picked up a 2.7 liter engine from a 04 XL7 and a box, wiring harness etc from an 02 XL7 a couple of weeks ago and have it fitted into my 98 soft top Vitara It was all easy and smooth install except for the ECU not working because of the immobilizer circuit that I didn't know was built into it so I stuffed around with the wiring for a week trying to figure out why I couldn't get fuel n spark yet every thing checked out ok, but you live n learn eh. So I'm just waiting on another ECU probably a Megasquirt from the USA to finish the job . Has any one got any ECU advice cheers.
