moved/ edited..... Anyway my name is Norm Coolidge i am from the Northern Adirondacks in NY! I just picked up a 87 sammy for a project off-roader it has no title and a bad engine but it was in great shape and it was free! so it is gunna be a winter build as soon as i can get back to work and i wanna do a mild lift probably stuff in some 31's and some other upgrades so it can take a lil beating with out having to load it back up in the middle of the day. plus on top of that it is retardedly high geared.... so what are the best low buget mods a can do to make this rig reliable? also anythigni can fab my self the better! i also have a a whistler turbo off of a 2 1/2 tom army truck insure if the motor will spin it def kno im gunna need a BOV!

and here is my daily/ tow rig when the time comes

2004 chevy colorado I-4 5 Speed 4X4

Fresh Lay of Inferno Orange Met ( did my own paint )
3" TB lift and 4" shackle/ AAL lift
31" BFG AT

Maganflow exhaust
custom recovery bar
1992 Chevy 2500 front skidplate
and a few other unimportant mods

I think your going to have to hook a belt up to that turbo in order to get it to spin up.  It's probably larger then the 1.3L in the Sammy.  :D

What do you want to use the Samurai for?

lolz yeah its def way overkill! lol i had it sitting in the garage it will prolly never happen the turbo weighs as much as the iny head of the 1.3..... its mainly gonna be just a trail buggy and i will do some minor crawlin.... nothing big "yet"......  i would love to do a diesel swap or a v6 but thats just not in the budget at the moment.... i also pondered the tought of putting a colorado drivetrain int it but thats gunna be a bit...... i did get it to run on 3 cyls tho the previous owner split the pison off of the wristpin!  :o

Well, if it's only the wrist-pin that is bad then it's an easy fix right?  :D

nice cheap find!  Well for a cheap gearing fix, I would look for a used 4.16 transfercase.  that has a reduction in high range of about 10%.  As for reliability, you planning to replace that 1.3 with another?  there are many people selling thie 1.3 to pay for their 1.6 conversion.

So what is the bulls eye you are shooting for?  let us know so we can give you more help.
