Electrical Nightmare
« on: September 16, 2010, 09:36:07 AM »
Hoping to find some help with a mystery problem.  I have had my 87 Samurai for a few months now and it has been a great little rig.  My wife was complaining about the noise when you push in the clutch.  So I sprayed some WD40 up on the assembly hoping to minimize the noise.  it didn't no big deal the noise didn't bother me.  I was taking my son to school the other day and every time I hit the brakes the stereo turned off and then would come back on?  So later in that day I went out to leave work and turned the key and had nothing no stereo no dash lights nothing would come on.  Well we wiggled and jiggled everything wwe could think of.  My budd ywas messing with wires that go to the starter and many other things and all of sudden it was all working.  Great drove it home and felt lucky.  The next day drive it to work no problems go to leave and nothing again.  I mess with the wires he did and nothing.;  I reqach under the glove box and I'm not sure what I hit but it worked again.  I drive it home pull in the garage turn it off go to start back up nothing again?  mess with the wires under the glove box nothing happens?  I go to the fuse box which is just floating in there I'm not sure what I touched but it is back on?  That is where I've stopped right now it will start but I want to know what is causing this issue.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.  After driving it for a few months I hate driving my truck.

Thanks in advance,
Bone

Sounds like a ground issue, many people have chased electrical issues
just to discover the small grounds that are attached to the body are
not making good contact, and all sorts of strange stuff happens when
they don't make good contact.

My wipers would come on when I hit the turn signals............. it was a ground
