First off - Thank you for everyone involved in helping me solve my t-case mount issue. Thank you 1Mad Zuk for beating on these Polaris mounts, so I know they will hold up just fine for me.
This is posted just to show more detail in the difference between the mounts and how I mounted mine up. When I was searching I couldn't find a lot of pictures of this mod but it seems to be a great mod that is not very well known.... even some just plain wrong info posted about these.
Here is how it started with my original problem and post :
I have the mighty kong t-case cradle and I am using stock t-case rubber mounts. I was getting what I thought was axle wrap when I take off hard in 1st gear. I would get some banging noise that was not sounding good.
I called Trail Tough, they suggested I try the solid t-case mounts (which I already have a used set). They said it is probably driveline wrap at the t-case and not axle wrap. Since I had the parts and it was only my time involved, I tried the solid t-case mounts tonight.... PROBLEM SOLVED !!!!! I can launch this thing like a drag car and have zero noise and banging now*** BUT *** now I have the solid mount vibrations once I get up to speed (50+ mph). This wont work since I still drive this on the freeway to work a day or two a week.Anyone know of a happy medium between the soft and stretchy rubber mounts and the solid mounts ??
I was linked to this page that suggested the Polaris engine mounts :
http://www.zukikrawlers.com/showthre...hlight=polaris.
I measure my stock mounts at 30mm tall / the solid TT mounts at 28mm tall / the Polaris mounts at 22mm tall. I went into the local hardware store and sorted through washers until I came up with washers to equal about 29mm total on the Polaris mount. I figure the stock mounts squish abit and the Polaris mounts are stiffer so they would squish less so that is why I went with the 29mm overall height (total guess on my part and may be totally wrong, but had to guess something so the 29mm total height is what I went with).
I tested it out with a quick spin and ........ Perfect happy medium between the soft mounts that were twisting and allow the driveline wrap and the solid mounts that were allowing a lot of vibration at freeway speed.
POLARIS PART NUMBER 3022067 - prices vary. I found them from about $12 to $23 each, so shop around. I ended up buying them from my local dealer for $18 each. The washers and nuts (3/8x24) do NOT come with the mounts.
I haven't beat these mounts off road but others have with zero issues, so I am expecting to have no issues with these.
Thank you again for everyone else's help and suggestions in getting my t-case mount and driveline wrap problem solved.
