« on: March 30, 2010, 07:15:18 PM »
tested my off road tracker for the 3rd time today. lil thing thing is a blast. only thing left to do is get some tires for the thing. i was thinkin some aggressive retreads that are 235-75-15 for 50 a PC. debating back and forth between them or a 30 in tire. pretty much what do you guys run???

Depends on your tracker.  I had a auto 2 door that has 4.62 gearing in the diffs and ran 31x10.5 tires just fine offroad but at around 70mph I could fell the power loss, I installed 5.12's and it was like driving my rig stock again.

What year tracker you have? auto/manual?

I did  the Calmini 3" lift and put on some 3 1/2" back space rims with 235/75/15's.
Content with the way it works.
Some rub with the stock wheels and I haven't had a chance to rub with the new rims.
Looks are good.
Still have good clearance and good grunt.
I am contemplating the header and exhaust kit to see if it really gives the
increase performance they claim.
If I can gain on this, maybe the 30's next.
I really don't think 31's are for me.
Seems they open up another whole can of worms.
I think I may try 30's if and only if eye could get a good deal on them.
I put 30/9.5/15's on my old Ford F150 300 six and the jump up to the
30's seemed to knock the power back a bit on it.
Mind you, I was running propane only.
Not sure how a 100 horse engine will accept the increase ratio.
Regards, Luke.

You probally have 5.12's in the diffs which means you could easilry run 31's if you lifted it.

I would check the ratio though to be sure.
