« on: June 03, 2010, 08:29:51 PM »
OK,got this "sad" little Samurai, doing the SPOA,I think its my 3rd or 4th in like 10 years (not Samurai,SPOA!!) I have owned 5 Samurai's too date.Currently have two.(also have a '96 X90 4x4  :D) I am lifting this one in my shop using floor jack and jack stands and a few blocks.Plan on using new spring pads with 2x2x1/4 blocks(pic),should turn out good. Also lookin to drop a 2.8 ltr with auto (Oh yea!!) in there!! ;D

Are those going between the axle and the springs?!

I believe they are... ahhh axle wrap!!!   they do it on fords, chevs and dodges all the time, but the springs on them are stout and like 3" - 3.5" in diameter.   I don't know if I could trust that on a 2" sammy spring... even the big trucks experience axle wrap just taking off from a light... I now, I did it in my 94 F-150 sitting on 35's.... wrapped it right around and it wasn't cheap to repair.. drive line, springs were mangled, some break line was bent to all hell.... it was not pretty... but hey, to each their own i guess...  if that works for you, then cool.... just pls... pls be careful and make sure you get something to keep the axle in position....

is that a 7 leaf pack on the rear? what spings are you running??? are you going to make, or buy a trac bar for the rear? i mean, the bigger trucks do the blocks, but like I said, the springs are bigger.... just trying to get info on what your plans are... and..... I wasn't trying to take from your build thread, I have my own going on, I don't need to take over yours bud...

I think he's askin the brand of the springs.  are you welding those 2x2 pieces to the axle mounts or just bolting them together?

Appreciate the interest,I am,of course, having the new perches welded to the axle tube. No,I am not welding the blocks, thats why they have leaf holes/perch pins. They will be plenty tight with the new u-bolts.

What size tire do you plan on running?

I agree with the other posts...A track bar would be a very good thing.
