I plan on using this thread to exchange info. I probably will not get to wild with it.
1993 Tracker
1.6 8v 5sp 4x4
No Lift (Trimmed Fenders)
30x9.50x15 tires (no rubbing lock to lock, but have not tried under full compression)
15x7 wagon wheels powder coated BLACK (3.75 backspacing)
Calimini Skid Plates: Engine, Transmission, Transfer Case, and Rear Axle
I really narrow muffler that does not hang below the frame rails
I affectionally call it "My Yellow Clown Car".
The axles and 3rd members have orange RTV, so I'm guessing the gearing has been changed. The previous owner said he bought it from a guy who was a dunner, plus it gets 30mpg with the 30s. I believe it may have the 5.38 or 5.62 gears, but have not had a chance to count the teeth yet.
I only plan on exploring desert trails, no rock climbing, so I can get to some of my favorite hiking trails. I have a 88 4x4 Toyota truck with 33s, 4.88s, and lockers front/rear, but it's time for a change.
My goal was to have 4x4 that got over 25mpg and was cheap. I picked this up for $500.00 with a cracked transfer case. A $175.00 dollars later I had a running tracker.
I removed the transfer case from the transmission by making cutouts in the tunnel cover to access the front top bolts that secure the transfer case to the transmission. Then I added some sheet metal to the cutouts and RTVed them back in place. Now I have removable access covers.
Overall Pictures:
Picture of modified Tool box in the rear. (This will one day become shorter due to roll cage)
You can also see the diamond plate covers I made for the front seat belt mounts.
Picture of the brackets I made to support the soft top bar. (Rear seat belt towers removed)
That's about it for now.
Need more funds to play, maybe I need to sell the Toyota?
