Quick exhaust help, please

did a search for flange bolt, found nothing helpful.

I am "replacing" my stock exhaust, but I cant get the damn manifold flange bolts off, they are the bolts with springs in them, that connect manifold to pipe.  I have a rachet with a 2.5ft cheater pipe on it, and I put all I got in it. they wont budge, I honestly cant believe they havent broken!

im stuck like chuck.

I recently paid the mechanic for this, using his impact tools, having had a lot of difficulty with this on an MG-A in the 60's.
Three thoughts come to mind:
1) Heat the nut to red-freakin' hot with a torch and try again before it cools completely; repeat. 
2) Soak the threads in penetrating oil overnight and try again.
3) Use a nut splitter and sacrifice the nut.

edit: Female threads are in the exhaust manifold flange, not a separate nut.

Your parts store may have some generic ones that are close enough to work; but the exact replacements will be an item you need to order from a suzuki dealership.

I have always had good luck by repeatedly soaking the threads in penetrating oil for a few days (soak both the top and the bottom of the threads).  Then when it comes time to remove the bolt, use a torch (propane might help a little, but really doesn't get hot enough to heat the big chunk of cast iron rapidly enough to be really effective so oxy-acetylene is the way to go).  Try to direct the heat to the area around the bolt, and not the bolt itself.  This will expand the threaded area around the bolt and help to free it.

First, let me say I was mistaken about nuts. The bolt threads into the exhaust manifold flange, not a nut.  If at all possible, be real careful not to break the bolt, or you will have a devil of a time getting the broken bolt piece out. There's not much to heat here, 'cause the exhaust manifold will suck all your torch heat away very quickly. You'd need a major-league torch.  Start with the penetrating oil and let it sit for as many hours as you can. An impact wrench from below is probably your best bet for breaking it loose, or breaking it completely, if you try too hard. If you do break the bolts, you'll probably have to drill out the exhaust manifold flange for a clearance hole and use a longer through-bolt and a nut, a PITA.   This is not a high-strength application, so a high-strength Grade-8 style bolt is NOT required. I prefer to keep my Zuk all-Metric, so I only have to carry a limited set of Metric tools.  If you can find stainless, I would think that it would be less likely to rust in place. Be sure to use anti-seize with stainless, as it tends to gall.

on the Internet, but have yet to order from them. I'm waiting to put together a big order all at once. I'll add replacement exhaust down-pipe bolts to the growing list.

When you do put it back together, a little anti-seize on the threads will make it easier to get apart. The graphite-ed gasket at the manifold-to-down-pipe joint is often bad (mine was).  Plan on replacing it.

yeah new gasken actually came with my cat convertor, I got a maremont cat and maremont superC muffler, so far, they seem like quality, I never saw a better muffler seem.

I am just soaking the crap out of them, one of them broke loose. Its a rainy day, got some coffee, lazy repair job.

Try PB Blaster for your penetrating oil. I think that stuff works great. Soaked all the stock suspension bolts on mine and they came off super easy.
