I'm torn which way (if any) to go for a lift on my 03 tracker.  I currently have 235's with slight frame rub at full lock to the left.  I am debating on going with a 2" lift for more articulation room.  Anybody running around on 235's without a lift?  If so, how does it wheel?  It seems as though the 2" coil lift and 2" body lift are comperable in price.  If you guys were only doing one, which one would you do and why?

If you're only going to do ONE thing (that's what you tell yourself now) to lift your vehicle to clear your 235's better, you might want to consider Old Man Emu struts/springs/shocks, but if you're on a tighter budget, coil & strut spacers and a cheap pair of longer shocks in the back will do the trick.  Look for the thead somewhere below this for jeff1997's spacers.  Easier to install than a b/l, too (ok, maybe the front's not that easy), and you won't have to worry about relocating bumpers, extending steering shaft, etc. 

It will still rub on the frame with either lift.  I have a 2" body and rocky road 2.5"  lift. and they still rub.

Yeah, I started out with a 1" suspension lift. Now I have that and a 2" body lift running 265/70/16. Now I'm in the process of installing a 2.5" suspension lift, and considering swapping out my 2" body lift with a 3" one. Maybe I can fit 32's or 33's under there. Aww, it never ends, and it all starts to innocently....

Dittoes for the spring/coil lift versus the body lift.  Your tires are going to rub your frame if you run larger tires (235+).  Body lift won't cure frame rubbing.  Different rims or spacers might help clearance the frame, but they have their own issues besides their cost.  At some point you will clear your frame... but then you will have to clear your fender lip if you push your tires out too far.  That's where a body lift may help you. 

My two cents:  if you can afford them, OME springs give a little less than 2" of lift, but the difference in ride quality is quite remarkable.  I'm not running OME struts or their shocks, just their srpings, but they still ride MUCH smoother than stock or coil spacers, which also have in one of my trucks. 

do 1.5inch front coil spacer, 2inch or 2.5inch rear coil spacer, longer rear shocks, install strut extensions on your stock front struts, slot the holes on the strut to re-align.  with this setup you get clearance under the frame, with the body lift you only get clearance under the body, which will probably end up being the next thing you do to fit 31's later......!  the suspension lift is more functional if you're only doing one thing and it looks better.

Thanks for all the help guys.  I think I'll be going with the suspension lift when the time comes.
