lightweight flywheel for sidekick/X-90

I'm looking for a lightweight flywheel for my X-90.
do you know if there's one for 1.6L sidekick/X-90?
I searched all over the web but I couldn't find any.

i think their was a thread about lighter flywheels a few weeks ago.  do a search on them.

I found messages that they put 1.6L engine to samurai transmission and used 1.3 or something flywheel.
is it the one?
I think I should check if the 1.3 flywheel fits the 1.6L engine and transmission.

Why a lighter flywheel ???
It's not better for torque, and
the stock one isn't that heavy.

If you really want a lighter flywheel
have a machine shop take some matierial
from the non friction side and lighten
the stock one, I would not recommend
using a 1.3 flywheel as it might not be
ballanced right for a 1.6, different crank
throw and weights might not jive

 Funny thing about the weighting, they are almost identical. The main problem that I see you having with wanting to use the 1.3 flywheel with the 1.6 is the starter won't have anything to engage against. The flywheel is much smaller in diameter. When people put 1.6s into sammies, that's why they use the 1.3 flywheel when they use the sammy transmission.

I wanted lighter flywheel because my car is X-90 and it's not intended for serious off roading.
but now there's nothing I can do about the flywheel.

Plinker,
If your looking for a little more road preformance, do a free flow exhaust and a header. You will be suprised at the difference at highway speeds.

A lighter flywheel will really only
improve engine acceleration, not
road HP, and I don't think it would
make any difference in your 0-60
times, so save your $$ for an exhaust
system

I read somewhere it was one horse power per pound in weight saving, mine is 15lbs. lighter I belive and it rev's real quick but the down side is the smaller clutch and mine is the 16 valve 1.6 with a sammy flywheel and trans, dual friction clutch.

thanks again, guys.

I'm replacing the clutch disk/cover and I thought it was a
good chance to replace the flywheel if there was any.

yea, I would go for the exhaust if I wasn't spending money for the clutch..

I decided to go with centerforce stage 1, but some people say that they work totaly same as stock clutch set..
but people don't recommend metal compound dualfriction
for street use.. :-/

The metal clutch disk is supposed to not
slip, which is fine for drag racing, but when
it comes to offroad, I think it would be hard
on driveline and make it hard to slip the clutch
for traction and such
