1.8 16v swap?
« on: March 16, 2009, 02:49:55 PM »
well i was at the parts store and some guy was buying a syphon to take to gas out of his junk car so i asked what it was and he said a sidekick with a bad trans so i asked him how much he was getting at the junk yard and he told me 120 so long story short i bought a 96 suzuki sidekick sport for 130$ but im not sure if i should use the motor in my sami (if it will even work) or fix it and put 31's on it as a daily driver because the a/c works lol

I do not know if it will work in a sammi or not but if you decide to get rid of just the motor it would be a good replacement for my 97 Sport when it totally dies.

It could be made to work but the 1.8 and 2.0 are a j block whereas the 1.3 and 1.6 are a g block.  Check some of the vendors for a 2.0 swap.  They are expensive.  I think I would try to find a trans for the kick.
