Progress on my Parts Truck
« on: August 30, 2004, 06:32:44 AM »
I posted some pics of my new parts truck last week and I figured Id update you all on what I did over the weekend.  I started by swapping out the front third since thats why I got the truck in the first place.  Then I swaped in the tilt colum.  The 16v intriged me but I had never heard it run so I wasnt sure if I wanted to do the swap.  I pulled all the wiring and computer.  By the way does anyone know what the little black box does?  I droped the gass tank to see if it was any good and found out why she wasnt a runner (broken fuel pump wire).  Once I saw that I knew I could make it run but all the wiring was out.  SO...  I hooked all the wiring back up under the hood.  The instrument cluster was where the drivers side headlight was supposed to be it looked pretty cool.  I used my jumper pack to run the fuel tank which was now sitting next to the passenger side tire.  I turned the key and brummmm shes a runner......

So next weekend comes the swap theres just two bolts holding the crossmember on the parts truck left to come out.  I have to drive to work tomorow so I cant start tearing down the Tracker till tomorow evening.  The antisipation is killing me.

Ill post some pics of the engine running with the wiring outside the car tomorow (You can see the tach).

Cool! Glad to hear the engine is going to work out for you!

:) It's great to find a steal like that sometimes.
