talked to them at moab a year ago . he said he has built a couple of them for a saudi prince that likes to play in the desert. we watched him pull out in front of a dodge diesel , the guy tried to pass him
and got blowed away bigtime.  was quite funny to watch . the dodge couldn't believe it

You can do it but it's a lot of work!

Rear mounted radiator, tougher axles, etc. etc.

About all thats left of the Samurai afterwards would be the frame, body and some of the electrical system.

I remember someone with an Olds 4-something V-8 at the 'Melt once.  The driver rolled it during the Night Run.  They had to leave it there until morning because it was impossible to flip it back on it's wheels in the dark as it was wedged against some trees.

I recall it was fun to look at but a pig to wheel.

Yeah, one of the reasons the sammy's wheel so good is the balance and light wieght. Add a few 100 extra pounds up front and it'll handle and wheel like it's drunk! Unless you're muddin' or drag racing!
In the end it's you're rig so build how you want... as long as we get to see the pics along the way!!!

Cheers and good luck!

A v-8 would be to much trouble. We have done plenty of 4.3's and they work out great. I would deffintly stay away from That conversion company. I have personaly redone 3 trucks from them that were completely undrivable after they delivered it to the customer.

I have a freind that used a kit from (that company) after he re-woked some stuff it fit nice, kin-du
after wheeling  he's wishing he would have just left the 1.6 in it, but it is fast, just a lotto of work and re-fiting part to make everything work. his rear shaft is only about 12" long

Yes - it can (and has been) done. But, I believe there's such a thing as too much power in the 4wd world especially. You'd be throwing out the largest benefit of the Suzuki - weight advantage. Expect to strengthen the frame, and every drive train component you can think of. Youtube suzuki v8 and you'll see a few examples of it being done... interesting that most of those films are just of guys in their garage... wonder what happens when they get outside?
