Need major help with carb quick
« on: March 16, 2008, 02:21:30 PM »
Running a stock 1.3 in a 1988 Samurai. Everything was fine until earlier today. I was driving at 45mph and stopped at a stop light the carb decided not to idle down and then went up to about 6000 rpm. I shut the key off and tried to start it again and it went up to about 6000 rpm again before I could shut the key off. Does anybody have any ideas? I really need this fixed so I can get to work. Thanks in advance. Also, this was running perfect before this happened.

You have a bad throttle cable...probable at the hole where it goes thru the firewall. Should be easy to see if that is the problem.

The cable will be frayed on the inside of the firewall if I am correct...let us know what you find....Gary
