hey, need some help
« on: May 11, 2005, 10:45:28 PM »
hey guys im new to the fourms and im in the process of buying a samuri, i was thinking of putting a 4 in suspetion lift,2 in body lift,1 in shackle lift, and 1 in add-a-leaf 8 in total. do you think it would be better to go with 33''s or 35''s baja claw radials? i want it to look like the tires arent as big as the truck along with some good flex...then i wanted to get 6:1 mega crawler or 4:16 crawler gears what would be better for mud crawling and trails with some road riding?
thanx alot

The set up you have described would likely result in a very stiff ride and I would think it would be a little top heavy as well.  You should look around at what is available from the suzuki vendors.  I think that you may want to consider just going with a standard spring over which with some massaging of the front fenderwell will allow you to run 33s.  35s will take more lift, you may want to look at Trail Toughs YJ kit.  If you are running stock axles 33s is about as large as I would go.  As for gears you won't need the 6:1s for mud.

Go with a 6" spring over and some longer springs, rears up front and maybe some Jeep springs in the rear. With the longer springs you can easily move the axles a couple of inches further apart to gain some clearance on the footwells and rear arches. That should be good enough for 33s.

The first thing is stay away from rro if you want to get your Zuki on the trail this decade.

For a decent ride do a RUF or for a better ride do a YJ swap. Both in a SPOA configuration.

On edit,

Looks like some one was digging through some old stuff and brought it back up.

Trowling maybe?
