RPM question
« on: November 28, 2007, 11:04:54 PM »
I noticed today while driving my tracker that while in 5th gear and doing 55MPH my RPM's were in the 3000 range and 65MPH was 3500, is this correct? Seems high however shifting is great, no noise or anything to alert me.

That is correct.  Trackicks are geared lower to make up for the small amount of horsepower.
1994 Tracker, 2in Ironman springs w/ 1in spacers on top, soon to have custom diff drop brackets, 31x10.5-15 All Tarrains, Pro Comp long travel shocks, KYB performance struts, strut mount flip w/2in extensions, 3in rear a-arm spacer, ...DD

Mine was happiest, fuel consumption, noise, ride at about 55-60. It does have a sweet spot at 70 but only 'cus pre turbo it was significantly more work for the motor to pull any faster than that.
