STILL having issues!!!!!
« on: November 29, 2007, 06:44:25 AM »
Hey yall! It's been a while...

I've still got the 06 GV with over 25k miles on it. Here are the issues:

 - GAS MILEAGE (my fault for living in mountainous area - installed stock size K&N Filter to try and help)
 - exhaust system shakes when driving or idleing - you can hear it rattle at low speeds
 - CD player replaced due to "Focus Error" message (new stereo occasionally gives same message)
 - popping from back side of vehicle (maybe loose exhaust or spare tire cover)
 - creaking from back end (maybe from shocks, bushings, or something)
 - airy noise from front end (air intake???)
 - while going over minor ruts in road, you can hear the door seals breaking loose

I would take it straight to the dealer, cause being that new the warranty should still be in effect.I took mine to a different dealer 2 hours away cause I was getting nowhere with my local dealer.5 days later,I was trouble free.

I've tried both of our local dealerships. The dealership I'm currently going to says they cannot duplicate the noises. The other one is where I actually bought it from, but the service dept. has a bad rep.

I normally get 22-24 mpg (sea level flat ground) for my 2006 GV.  I read an article about getting better gas millage by driving at the speed limit, accelerating slowly. coasting up to stops instead of using the brakes.  Generally the type of driving style that pisses off every other driver on the road. I never went over 55 and most of the driving was at 35 to 45.  It seemed to take forever to go through that tank of gas, but I kept thinking it would be worth it.  It wasn't I got 24.7 mpg.  I am now back to driving with a lead foot(more fun) and 22-24 mpg.
My GV has 40,000 miles (plus 15,000 towed behind my motor home).  It is a little noisy so I started putting in Dynamat in the doors and a rug in the back.  It has quieted it down.
