Hagens Widening and other Qs
« on: October 14, 2007, 03:56:33 PM »
ok im new to the whole IFs setups
exactly what is the hagens widening?

does it actually widens the front driveline assembly so that you can install the longer yota cvs properly?

do you have to use wheel spacers in back to make the front and back wheels even when installed?

can this widening be done on a vitara that has a calmini lift suspension done to it?

can i get a kit yota CV kit shipped to barbados?
if not i can get it shipped to a US address{Brooklyn NY} and then get it shipped here if its too much trouble.

do you need any special parts to do the widening mod or can the parts be found in a junkyard or off of a IFS yota?

do you need any parts at all? ???

is there a write-up for the newbies to get this done who doesnt live in the US?

thanks alot in advance

It does widen the front wheel base to allow for custon CV assemblies

do you have to use wheel spacers in back to make the front and back wheels even when installed?

It is not necessary, it does not widen it that much, I actually used spacers to meke min a little wider in the rear

can this widening be done on a vitara that has a calmini lift suspension done to it?

Yes, my Sidekick/vitara (89) has this done to it

can i get a kit yota CV kit shipped to barbados?

I will forward this link to Stan to see, but I believe so

if not i can get it shipped to a US address{Brooklyn NY} and then get it shipped here if its too much trouble.

Stan or Mike should be able to answer all of the rest of the questions for you, I will forward the link to them

Quick question about Hagen's widening mod.

He said,"Draw a straight line between the existing hole and the edge of the front of the frame. Find the halfway point and mark it with a center punch. Drill a ½ inch hole here. Do not drill the backsides yet. "

Does anyone have an approximate measurement for how much further out the new hole is drilled?  Is it about 1"?  Is it 1-1/2"?  Just need to know for a future project.  Is there anyone that can help me out with this measurement?

Thanks guys!

I think mine was just under 1" but I can't remember for sure.
1991 4 door kick, 2" coil spacers, 30" Coopers, winch, locker, rust, dents, etc.
