« on: September 09, 2007, 08:58:08 PM »
friend is using a tracker frame for a kit car, needs to lower it.  I  heard of firebird front struts, anyone know anything else?  wont need a lot od suspension travel, the strut tower will be cut  and lowered, just need a short strut

Don't have a clue on how to lower one
But pics of the kit car project would be interesting.

If you don't need so much travel can't you just shorten the springs and add limiting straps to stop the front struts over extending (and letting the springs fall out!).

the strut towers hit the hood, need shorter struts so the strut tower can be lowered for clearance

If you want to do the work you could just eliminate the struts all together.  Do a setup similar to Mike Haggens front end.

Redesigned the front end and eliminated the struts.  Then you could put some mini-truck shocks on or something.
