Anyone ever bling with this?
« on: August 16, 2007, 06:32:18 AM »
Been eBaying like a nut since I got the Tracker, but just looking--not buying yet. (My wife figured out my secret purchasing procedure, so I have to come up with a new one.)

My dash and interior are mint, but this kind of caught my eye:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ih=020&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWA%3AIT&viewitem=&item=300141523701&rd=1

Your thoughts? My fear would be that if the adhesive doesn't hold, I would be ruining a good thing.

I did a kit like that on a 300M and never had any problems with it detaching.

Get the dash as clean as possible AND use the adhesive promoter, and the trim will stick forever.
I don't suffer from insanity, I enjoy it.

Buy-it, Build-it, Beat-it, Part-it

I just cleaned mine really good and painted it (old tuner trick)  It looks alot cleaner than sticking plastic crap to your dash.  It was easy to do and still looks good 4 years later.  I may even change it this month to a lighter silver instead of the dark metalic graphite it is now.

Well to me "bling" and "4x4" do not mix but thats just my opinion... LOL
As for the adhesive with the kit, let me say this... If it does come with 3M anything you are getting a top quality adhesive. 3M don't |removethispart|@#$% around with there products and if prepped right will stick for many years.

Well, I for one love the bling factor on the trail.  Path of least resistance is to wheel an ugly POS.  This is too simple and easy to wheel a beater.  It takes a lot of work (and money) to up the *bling* factor.

I added drill'd and zinc'd rotors to my Sammy.  At first, the bling thing was the motive (and that they were like $30 a piece to my door).  The fact that when they arrived, the "Brembo" logo and name were stamped into the rotor edge made me smile.

Bring on the bling, I say.  It make the trail ride all the more fun. ;D

Anyways... if bling is your thing then thats fine but in my opinion... WHY BOTHER!!!

I'm not doing any off-roading anyway.

My body and interior are mint, and I'm doing everything I can to pretty her up. I want people to get in and say, "This is a NINETY-FIVE!? WOW!"

Yup.  It's either that or smoke crack.  Either way, money's got to go somewhere. ;D

Besides, it don't mean a thing if it ain't got some bling. 8)

Hahaha " But gear will get you here ". If your interior is mint, than why bother. Those things will go out of style faster than window louvers. If you want to improve the look, than maybe get nice comfortable seats (something other than the foam & casino carpet upholstery Suzuki uses.) That way you get both style and function. Just my 2 bits.

If your interior is mint, than why bother.

I eventually came to that same conclusion yesterday, after seeing other stuff I want/have to buy.
