What's up people- just got a 87 for Deer lease use and hoping to turn it into daily driver when it's not on the lease. Finally got it running yesterday after replacing the coil, ignition switch and one of battery cables. Need ya'lls expertise on some of my ideas for my need for just a little more power

Here are a couple of my things I have found

Anyone using this combo? and what improvement did ya'll see

Thanks in advance for your comments

Nooooooooooooo..........................Not them! :o

Sorry, me emotions got away from me. :-X

My '88 has a modded Webber and a 2" exhaust complete with header. The improvements I saw were a better sounding Sami from the exhaust and better throttle response, along with a little more power. When I put the weber on, I also saw a drop in MPG. The reason I saw that was the fact I had it built for a 1.6 not the 1.3 I put it on.

If you actually want a performance gain, I'd suggest finding a 1.6 8-valve long block and install that in between your 1.3 intake and exhaust. You can add those other things (header and bigger pipe) to help a bit too.

Those are pictures of a 1.6 8-valve using all of the Samurai intake, carb, and a Calmini header. Here's the article from our ARCHIVES section: http://www.zukiworld.com/month_020103/feature_gijane.htm

That describes one really good method for gaining a measureable amount of HP gain with good driveability.
